Our vision is to spread the Word of God to the ends of the earth and to make disciples of all nations. As a Bible believing church, proper conduct and moral lifestyle, as laid down in the Bible scriptures, are our focus

Our Vision

Our mission is to actualize the global vision of the Redeemed Christian Church of God as received by the Worldwide General Overseer of the church, Pastor E. A Adeboye, and communicated to its headquarters and all parishes of the Church which are as follows:

  1. To make heaven.
  2. To take as many people with us.
  3. To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.

To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.
To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries. We will pursue these objectives until every nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe:

  1. In the Divine inspiration of the Bible as the infallible Word of God.
  2. That the Divine Trinity consists of Three Persons in One: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  3. In the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His teachings, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and in His 2nd coming to this earth in power and glory to rule.
  4. That Man was created in the image of God before whom he walked in innocence, holiness and purity, but by disobedience and transgression, he fell to the depths of sin. Therefore, the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the finished work of Calvary.
  5. That Perfection is a spiritual growth for those who have been sanctified and consecrated unto God.
  6. In the Baptism of the Holy Ghost for all believers who are living sanctified lives and that it is evidenced by the speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
  7. That Divine Healing of sickness for all believers is provided through the atonement.
  8. The Second Coming of Jesus and in the Rapture of the Church.
  9. That Tribulation will occur between Christ’s second coming for his bride and His return in Judgment.
  10. In the Millennial Reign – the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ on earth.
  11. The Great White Throne Judgment as the final judgment when all the wicked will stand before God.
  12. The New Heaven and New Earth will replace the current heaven and earth.
  13. In Eternal heaven and Eternal hell as literal places of final destiny.
  14. In Water Baptism by Immersion as Jesus commanded.
  15. In Restitution where stolen goods are returned to their rightful owners.
  16. In the Lord’s Supper practiced in remembrance of His death until He returns.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God was established in 1952 by the late Pastor Josiah Akindayomi. Though he did not know how to read or write, God gave him the name of the Church through a vision and he did scribble down what he saw in the vision, which was how the name "The Redeemed Christian Church of God" was received.
Pastor Akindayomi served God with zeal and fervency and God made a covenant with him, that He would meet this church on His return and would also take the church to all nations of the earth. This is being fulfilled in our time. The church continued to grow under the leadership of this great man of God until 1981, when he passed on to glory. The mantle of leadership fell on the present leader of the mission, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who is fondly known and addressed as (G.O) General Overseer, through whom God began to fulfill the covenant he made with the founder, pastor Josiah Akindayomi.
The church has been experiencing phenomenal growth; Redeemed Christian Church of God is present in almost every part of the world. Since 1981, an explosion began with the number of branches growing in leaps and bounds. At the last count, there were about 2500 parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria. On the International scene, the church is present in numerous African nations such as Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Gambia, Cameroon, Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Zambia, Ethiopia, South Africa and a host of others.
In the United States of America, there are about 800 parishes in various states including Canada. In the United Kingdom, there are over 400 parishes, while the church is established in about 42 countries in mainland Europe. There are parishes in the Caribbean states of Haiti and Jamaica. We also have parishes in South America, the Middle East, Australia, etc.
Today, God is still doing marvelous deeds through the Redeemed Christian Church of God, worldwide. One of the better-known programs of the church is the Holy Ghost Service, an all-night worship and miracle service that holds on the first Friday of every month at the Redemption City, Km. 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Nigeria. The average headcount of attendees in the service is mostly about one million people. This program is also transmitted live on www.rccg.org.
